Vilnius Lyceum Alumni Association UK (VLAAUK) is a registered Charity No. 1184536.

VLAAUK was established in July 2019 to bring together benevolent activities of the alumni of Vilniaus licėjus (Vilnius lyceum) based in the UK. Charity’s main activity is awarding grants, scholarships and maintenance allowances to students and alumni of Vilniaus licėjus seeking to advance their education.

VLAAUK's Board of Trustees, responsible for controlling the work, management and administration of the charity on behalf of its beneficiaries, currently consists of 6 members:

  • Adomas Paltanavičius (XIV)
  • Darius Pieslikas (XVI)

Charity's objects

For the public benefit to advance the education of students and alumni of Vilniaus licėjus (Vilnius lyceum) school including, but not limited to the awarding of scholarships, the provision of maintenance allowances and grants and providing and assisting the provision of facilities for education at the school.

ways to give

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or GAYE) is a tax-efficient way to donate to VLAAUK. To donate £1, you will pay:
  • 80p if you’re a basic rate taxpayer
  • 60p if you’re a higher rate taxpayer
  • 55p if you’re an additional rate taxpayer
Some employers have matching arrangements in place that further increase the final size of your donations.
If your employer has setup a scheme with one of the Payroll Giving agencies (e.g. Benevity, STC Payroll Giving), you will be able to request gift matching and/or for donations to be taken from your pay before tax (but after National Insurance).

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows us to claim from HMRC, the basic rate of tax you have paid. Gift Aid increases the value of donations by 25%.
For us to be able to make the claim for additional 25% (at no extra cost to you) we will need you, upon making a donation, to fill in the following form:

If you pay tax above the basic rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation the annual Self-Assessment or by asking HMRC to amend your tax code. See: Tax relief when you donate to a charity
Example: You donate £100 to VLAAUK – we claim Gift Aid to make your donation £125. Where applicable, your employer matches your donation (partially or in full) further increasing the size of your donation. If you pay 40% tax, you can personally claim back £25.00 (£125 x 20%).
